Ada Nnoir was born in the north of France near the Belgian border, from the hidden love story between a brilliant badass nurse, who wanted to be a doctor, and a famous university doctor who was dreaming to become a writer.
After a year at the fine arts academy in Lille (E.S.A Dunkerque-Tourcoing), she graduated from the Paris VII - Denis Diderot University with a master degree in “Medias and Cultural Studies” in 2006, with a final essay exploring the relations between mass surveilliance and documentary cinema.
She then professionalised her parrallel interest for crafts with a vocational trainning in costume design and production (D.N.M.A.D.E Spectacle parcours Costume/Accessoire) at the state college for stage arts and crafts Jules Verne near Paris.

Following her studies, A. M. spent 7 years in Paris working as a freelance creative craftswoman and artist, specialised in soft, flexible materials and textile.
She created and self-produced numerous costumes for theater companies art projects or film.
She also worked on set design installations and displays commisssionned by the private and commercial sectors (see the list below).
Relocated in Germany in 2015, she worked in projects for the Jewish Museum Berlin, with theater painter Mario Kwast, 3pc - Neue Kommunikation Berlin, Beier + Wellach and the World Nature Forum in Aletsch, Switzerland, stadt theater Paderborn or the state theater Schwerin.

From March 2019 to August 2021, she was costume design assistant at the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus in Nordrhein-Westfalen, where she worked in productions from Roger Vontobel, Bernadette Sonnenbichler, Constanza Macras, Tilmann Köhler, David Bosch and Bob Wilson, among others.
From 2014 to 2019 she runned an art duo “THE FOOTOPUTES PROJECT” with textile and video artist Stephanie Cazaentre.
She collaborated in various constellations: with artist Hendrik Hegray, with the stage and light designer Afra Schanz or in the duo Classic Cars with musician Jacob Suske.
Since her first try-outs in Berlin’s underground venues in 2016, she is focusing on performance works.
From 2014 to 2019 she runned an art duo “THE FOOTOPUTES PROJECT” with textile and video artist Stephanie Cazaentre.
